Short Notes

• Short Note is NOT SHORT

the basic idea is you should understand the study area!

Take a New CR book
Name the Book As Short Notes B.S
Under it Write "I will Surely Get A for B.S. in A/L 2009"

Start from the area that you are more convenient!
Acording to the syllabus write every thing importent u learnt about it.
(in ur School, Class , from other books) every thing which are relevent.

Write them in a format that you can remember.
Make it colourful put bullet points and use highlighters!!!
write ur short notes as nice as u write a love letter!

Please Don't copy some1 short note because coping dosen't give you anything
you should read and understand and write your short notes on your own!

[I can't upload a pic of my short notes because i gave all of them
to a daughter of mom's friend! sorry about tht]
I'll try to write a new 1 and upload!

If you are not convenient with Short Notes

Find a Good Book
eg: Jagath Bandaranayake - Business Studies
And Highlight the Key points and write the things
that you find in school and class,which are not in book!

But to do this you must have proper knowladge about the paper
What types of questions are asked, What are topics that examinor
test every year(e.g. Marketing), to get this knowladge you must
do papers... and follow Marking schemes

No Buddy I coulden't Make it for University...
By the time when it was 6 Months for exam
I saw my girl friend (1st love) goes with another guy!
I lost my consentration... lost everything!!!!
But I didn't Give up I studied I used my full effort!!
I got good results but not enough for Uni!
You are experiencing the stratergies i've followed in 6months to cover All Syllabus!
Wish i didn't loved in school time!!!!

MEMORY

There are 3 types of Memory

1. Sensitive Memory
2. Short Term Memory
3. Long Term Memory

Sensitive Memory
Sensitive memory is the very short term memory (ex. RAM in PC) it can record
the things that we hear,feel,taste,see,smell and it disappears immediately.
Maximmum of a sensitive term memory will be 25 seconds!

Short Term Memory
Its like a hard disk. We can store/convert the things in sensive memory to short term memory
by Repeating , writing etc (there are 6 methords of memorizing I'll write it later)
these type of memory can be stored about an hour.

Long Term Memory

This is like BIOS(exiestence point of view(peawathma anuwa)) in pc. Recalling, Repeating, Visual imaging short term memory
again agian and again will help you to store it in Long Term memory.

e.g.
When you are reading a book that points will go inside your sensitive memory.
After few minutes if you close your eyes and recall the points it will enter in to
your short term memory.
If you recall it after hour and write a short note and again if you remember it, you will surely enter it to your Long term memory

I will discuss more ways of putting things in to your short term memory in future....

A/L Exam Study Secrets!
I will give you few study secrets I’ve followed when I did my A/L in 2007.

1. Motivation

Malli/Nangi motivation is the key of success It’s the secret which drives you to the maximum which keeps you focus to the studies.
Here are few things which will keep you Motivated.

Only think about 4As. Try to use your full effort to get 4 As. Write it in your short notes
Eg: Economics A , Business Studies A , Accounting A , English A,

Use a Scrap Book. Scrap book is a Book you write everything.
Scrap book is very important to keep you motivated. And where ever you see something important write it down.

Eg: your Study plan, things come in to your mind! It will surely give you good memories after exam!

2. Study Plan.

Study Plan is Very Important for the success of the exam.
To make a study plan you must know full detailed syllabus.
Ask your school teacher or you can find in master guide books.

You must have 2 study plans


A.Major Plan
This plan is the plan how are you going to cover syllabus
e.g.

April
Business Studies – Unit 1, 2 (theory + Short Notes)
Economics - Unit 1 (theory + Short Notes)
Accounting - Unit 1 (theory +Short Notes)

June
B.S - Unit 3 (theory +Short Notes)
Econ - Unit 2 (theory +Short Notes)
Accounting - Unit 2 (theory +Short Notes)
Etc…….

B.Simple Study Plan(short term Study Plan)
Major Plan will keep you focus but it will not work because
situation changes every moment!
Simple study plan should be change week by week.
When its near to exam you might even change it to hour by hour.
e.g.
April week 2 (7-13)

7- B.S Unit 1 Acc 1988 Paper
8– Econ Unit 1 ( x – y page) Acc Unit 1 Revice
9–
10–
11–
12–
13-



3. Understand your weaknesses

First do a paper from every single subject.. and give it to your class teacher and
he/she will mark it to you then ask them what are your weaknesses and they will
guide you.Focus on the subjects or areas that you are weak and improve them.

4. Study times

Malli/Nangi we are not NISHACHARA animals. So I recommend study in early morning.
In morning it’s the beginning so you can start your day with studying.
In night it’s the end of the day and you are tired so it’s hard to memorize.
Night is the best time to do accounts…
I studied at morning 3A.M. onwards and I slept and 8 P.M.
In the morning you have to see your plan and verify your things to do today…
Some people are convenient in studying in night so you should try both and find out which way suites you best!!

5. Hand Writing

Mailli/Ningi if you got bad hand writing its ok but keep it clear and tidy.
So every one can read it. Think examiner might be 45 year old person
who wears glasses and gone through many bad handwriting
so please keep in mind to keep your paper clear and tidy.
You can improve don’t give up.

6. Dedication

Malli/nangi in this world human being is the only animal who can change his destiny.
A dog can think he wants to be in a rich family pet?(higher living status) but he
can never be… But if a human thinks to reach a higher living status he surely can…
NO PAIN NO GAIN… if u got a girlfriend think about both of your future and
dedicate for your exam!! Malli girls will come and go in your life but your time age
will not come again! I lost my girl because my focus to exam. If she really loved me she'll never go away!

7. Don’t listen to songs while you studying listen to music

Songs will take your mind every where so PLEASE DON’T LISTEN TO SONGS but if
u can listen to instrumental music its ok.

hey im doin mathz sums while listenin to SONGZ
i hv no probz wt that......Bcoz t keepz me concentrate on ma question other than ma GF...Wish i hv nt started 2 luv sum 1....but i never regret for wat i did n still doing...coz after all those are true expirience from mistakes...1st gal ate ma whole AL carrier...nw i hv andr GF....bt t is hard to concentrate on studies while loving....well we 'll see wot will happen...even if i get 3 F s(i cn get mre dan dat) i wont regret for wot i did...bcoz life it self teachs us many thngs that u cn nt get from books....
