The police found a lorry loaded with claymore bombs along with many other weapons from Mabola - Wattala area today evening (Sunday the 13th of August). The police sources said that the lorry was found as per the details disclosed by an LTTE terrorist who had been arrested in the same afternoon.
The two suspects were arrested this afternoon as the civilian sources informed the presence of two suspected persons in the area. The police sources said that identity cards issued by the LTTE were found in the possession of the two suspects.
When questioned by the police one of the terrorists swallowed a cyanide capsule and was rushed to the General Hospital Ragama. The patient later was reported dead at the hospital.
The Lorry loaded with the weapons was found abandoned near the the Mosque at Mabola in Wattala . The following weapons were found in side the lorry:

Inspector General of Police Chandra Fernando was also present when the lorry was being checked. The IGP said all the credit of the discovery should be given to those vigilant civilians who timely informed the police on the suspects.
