    How bad is it?

    FYI. Copied from one of my earlier posts......

    <snip>
    I believe this is the variant that was reported to have started around mid- December, somewhere between 15 - 23 December. It's Lineage P.1 (descendent of B.1.1.28), contains several mutations E484K, K417T, and N501Y.
    This one is associated with increased transmission and also increased reinfection rates.

    Global Covid death count now exceeds 2 Million... (a lot more if you add a realistic death count in China) :(
    <snip>

    PS:
    For anyone interested in more detail, this new P.1 lineage carries 17 unique amino acid changes, 3 deletions, and 4 synonymous mutations, and one 4nt insertion compared to the most closely related available non-P.1 sequence.
