A supporter of UPFA shot and killed in a conflict between groups of same party(2009, 11,15 pm,) A 23 years old youth named Chamila Pushpakumara was killed at Colombo national hospital accident service following a shooting incident that occurred amidst a clash between two groups at Badaovita, Mount Lavinia.
The clash was between two groups of the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) supporters. The youth was admitted in Kalubowila hospital first and he was immediately transferred to national hospital accident service due to the seriousness of the casualty. A spokesman of the accident service said to 'Lanka-e-News' that he succumbed to the injuries around 7.45 pm.'Lanka-e-News' enquired from the police media spokesman about the incident and he said that the clash was between supporters of two UPFA candidates of the election. The deceased had sustained gun shot injuries in his abdomen.
