The case involving ABC Radio will be taken up for hearing today amidst strong speculation the network which operates five channels - SUN FM, GOLD FM, HIRU FM and SHAA FM - will resume operations soon.
The Daily Mirror learns the staff at the private network have been told by the management that ABC Radio will be back on air as early as next month although a specific date has not been mentioned nor are there reports of an out of court settlement in the offing. However, the ABC management declined to make an immediate comment.
ABC Radio's licence was suspended by the government in October last year over an alleged misreporting of a news item. Legal action was subsequently filed over the withdrawal of the broadcasting licence. (PW)
