Activating Windows on New Hard Disk?

I just bought a new hard disk and i'm planning to install windows on the new one. will i be able to activate windows with my original product key on the new hard disk? pls help

Depending on the Key I think...
I don't use Original keys...but genuine anyway...

well if it is said that the key is usable for 3pcs or something like that then you can do what you want to do right now...

See the details of purchase first...there will be information about it...

if u are using oem version of widows ,u can't do that

just Clone your existing windows installation to your new HDD.

thanks for the replies. despite all odds it just worked! even microsoft says in their support blog that you have to phone microsoft and get it activated if you make a major hw change to the system
