    Hi All,

    https://www.adaderana.lk/news.php?nid=113517
According to the above news, electricity discharged from battery storage systems during the night-peak period (6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) will be purchased by the CEB at a rate of Rs. 45.80 per unit (kilowatt-hour (kWh).

My question is, I already have an existing 10kW on-grid solar system under Net Accounting scheme. Since I have more roof space I'm interested in installing a second, completely separate hybrid solar system with batteries to take advantage of the new CEB Time-Based Battery Tariff (Rs. 45.80/unit for night export).
Is it officially permitted to have two entirely separate solar connections/agreements for different systems at the same residential address?
My goal is to keep my current 10kW system's agreement untouched and have the new hybrid system registered independently.

While I agree with @imback2008, I am curious to why you want to invest 2 3 million and generate max 10 15 and then sell it to CEB. You will get max 20 30k a month for the night time and you will have to run it for 8+ years to even break even. at that time you will have to probably replace the infrastructure.

Give it some time and see how Si-C batteries can change the battery industry.

If large scale 10kWh+ Si-C batteries are viable then they will quickly take over the Lithium based battery market

How long will it take to see this trend? Within the next year? Need to put up a hybrid setup for my home next year (uninterrupted power)

This should have been the right way to do things from the beginning, not the old way that made the supply grid go over voltage. During the day, no one can use that generation in a normal house area supply grid because everyone has gone to work.

I got my current system installed 2 yrs ago, they pay me Rs 37 per unit, now the rate has been reduced a lot, which is why I don't want to renew this agreement instead keep this but add another system to take advantage of the night time tariff system. I already have extra roof space and money to invest. I can atleast get over 20k, which I think is better than putting it in a fixed deposit. I'm open to suggestions.

And there is a limitation like max 8 units per hour x 4 hours = 32 units per day.

    Don't think so..

In that case some companies give min 10 yrs warranty 🤷
