ADSL connection get disconnected every 5 minutes

im using slt ADSL Home package, The problem is that my ADSL connection get disconnected every 5 minutes (approximately). im using a Prolink H9601 USB modem. SLT checked the telephone line and they said that the line is perfectly in good condition. i checked the the cables setting and all, they seems to be fine.SLT guys failed to fix it. but its still getting disconnected all the time. i need a solution for this. PLZ help!

in my opinion the problem is that u hav more that 1 phone line when someone lifts the fone the line gets disconnected u could avoid the problem by using a splitter to all the telephone lines...

Try with another modem for few hours...then u know fault is your modem or not...I think USB modems not that good like external powered ones...

well there is only a few reasns y it happens. its either lyk said b 4 dat sum one at home lifts da fone and it gets diconnected coz u dont have a splitter. or else there is sumthing wrong wit da modem.

i had da simmilar problem wit ma prolink router. i took it to sala enterprises and they said they'll chk it and told me to wait. in around 5 mins they brought it back and said its working nw and told me to take it home. i brought home and fixed it and nw works fine. dont know wat da error was but now it works fine.

it mite also b a virus. there is a virus which changes da directory settings so as to show a blank page when ever a page is looked for.

And install an splitter if u don't have one...

1. Try another type of modem (get 1 for few days from a friend)
2. If u don't have a splitter get 1
3. Tell us about ur virus guard (I don't think this is due to a virus, but better to stay updated)

machan check da splittter...do u hav a prolink one or jst a normal spliter..
if ur using a normal splitter then everytym someone picks up da phone ur line gets disconnectd...
do if u dont hav a gud splitter , then fix a prolonk one...which is available at telecom n wil cost u around 500 bucks..

I also had the same problem many times ago. The reason was spyware or a virus. Problem solved after formating the machine.

Slt ekek aya dan 6 parak withara awilla oka fix karanda haduwa unta problem eka hadaganda ba. virus ekek wenna ba machan maokada unge lapta gahuwath disconnect wenawa. mama prolink same modem ekakma use karala baluwa eth problem eka enawa! dan thiyenne Kaspersky internet security 2009. panda virus guard eka dala balanam! sumtimes 3hrs withara disconnect wenne nathiwa connection eka steady thiyanawa! prolink Splitter thiyenne, phone line 1 use karrane phone eka disconnect karala baluwath problem eka thiyanawa!
