Monday, May 4, 2009, 15:33 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.
May 04, Colombo: The Sri Lanka's Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) today warned that measures taken by the Sri Lanka Health authorities to prevent Influenza A (H1N1) entering the country are not sufficient.
A spokesman for the GMOA said that all four scanners placed at the country's main International Airport in Katunayake to detect travelers carrying the disease are not functioning.
"In this circumstances there was a risk and can not be prevented the disease coming into the country," the GMOA warned.
A Health Ministry official while claiming that the scanners would be repaired soon and said that action has been taken to prevent the disease coming to Sri Lanka.
