Its because of this machan...Abut 11 dys back, a ship damaged the optical cable under the sea close to Singapore, now that is the main cable thru whic ALL sri lankan ISP's go, even SLT or LAnka BEll or Dialog...

I heard that the repair is a major one, and it has been occurred on the other side of control, where SL cannot handle, so repairs are done by Singapore govt. where SL ISP's have to pay, it is going at a very slow rate...still soldering is going on...So because of that whole of SL coneccetion nw goes thru a normal line under the sea which is very slow...

Hopefully the problem will recover within another two weeks time, but may be more sometimes also...

And the biggest effect is to SLT home users becuase they have given more priority to their other important subscribers like bakns and large companies who need the high speed...and since those firms have subscribed via SLT, SLT hoe users have the problem with an extra slower speed, where as users like Lanka bell or Dialog dont have this problem coz it dusnt have that much heavy subscribers and its Wireless

RS link ekakin dwnload karanawanan IDm eka download karannada kiyala propt karaddi e welawema start gahanna epa leave it abt 2 minutes.den da speed z coming 4 abt 55-65kbps otherwise the whole dwload z going on abt maximum of 21kbps.
