How much do you think such a robot would cost, including not only the initial purchase but also maintenance and repairs?

Besides, could they operate using alternative energy sources besides electricity?

According to CyberSecurity Malaysia, AI-driven scams are on a sharp rise, with 46% of reported cybercrime cases in 2023 involving AI in some capacity. In total, more than 12,000 reports of cybercrime were filed, with financial losses estimated at over RM 300 million for AI-driven fraud. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has also reported that much of this activity originates from international syndicates that target Malaysia’s digital ecosystem.

Elon said that Tesla`s Optimus would be around 20k - 30k (USD) when mass produced. Even if the price is doubled, at 40k USD, its still nothing compared to the salary paid to a person.

Take a basic medium sized restaurant operaring in the US. The average salary for a waiter is around 32k per year (this is for a waiter only, NOT kitchen staff). A Robot on the other hand, could do all the waitering, then do all the cleaning once the restaurant is closed. Charge at night for like 4 hours (obvioulsy wont take this long with supercharging, but just an assumption), then be ready next morning to do perperation work at the kitchen. Repeat this cycle endlessly (with some downtime for maintenance of course).

You know that the Voyager 1 spacecraft had a basic nuclear power source in 1977 right (radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs))? Technilcally, it`s nothing to build a safe, efficient mini reactor in 2025. Dont really need these in robot`s though, batterry tech is getting better by the day and electricity is also really really cheap when compared to paying wages for a person.

Recently on my visit to Hokkaido even in some remote areas (away from Sapporo) restaurants had a robot waiter. As you enter the restaurant you order your food from a touch panel, then you are allocated a table. Just go and sit there, after a while beep... beep... a robot approaches says table number, order number and delivers the food tray. Says "Thank You" and goes back. Of course there's one or two staff to look after your needs that might arise.

Who would these robots serve? robots or humans?

If people lose their income due to AI, they may not afford dining at restaurants.
True... Any kind of Automation affects the jobs. Just take a look at the Supermarkets & Banks in the western world. The checkout staff has been replaced by machines and the bank tellers have disappered too, a bare minimal staff is retained.

This is what we need next.Developed countries can replace their aging population with robots and also use armed robots for military. Jobs will be affected but it happens for everyone so people will get used to it.It's like horses lost their jobs with the invention of car.Geting food served by a hot chick going to be a luxury.

Yeah, this is a basic waiter. Similar one`s are used in hotels as buttlers (i.e. roomservice). First time I saw one was in California in 2018 (it was very basic back then)..

Imagine when humanoids have fully operational hands/limbs (Tesla`s Optimus is pretty close to human hands in terms of movement, though not there yet). An entire restaurant being operated by Robot`s, this could happen within the next 10 years. When they are connected to the internet and AI driven, cooking any recipie will be a piece of cake!

    This! 100%

From industical revolution to personal computers, change is inevitable in this world. Some loose jobs, some find new job opportunities. The disparity between the rich and the poor keeps growing. Exreme efficiencies generated by AI and Robot`s will make big businesses more profitable. Nothing much we can do, other than adopting to change.

There will be other jobs created. Those who do manual, repetitive jobs will face a threat. Sure. But there will be a balance between augmentation and automation.

PS: There are drink mixing robots in many places now.
