airtel is giving broad band through Lankacom neda. even Airtels modem is very expensive. but in india it costs only round 2-3k in sri lanka rupees. why they charge higer price. eka locked da machan. piliyandala- bokundara 3G tiyenwada

In India Airtel does not have HSDPA broadband, even they don't have 3G. They only provide DSL lines.

Yes, their modem is network locked

Do they offer promised speed?
This a question that there is no direct answer, for the unlimited package they said they offer 3.2mbps (409.6KB/s) As far as I know, people experience around 100 - 250Kb/s!

Thats a bit low to whot I get..I reside in Kelaniya and using wimax. I get 700kbps and download rate avarage of about 75kb per sec..I hope most wimax home users are getting this?

Hey, Airtel has just started they will improve it with the time.
Anyway, if you have 3G, just go for it! No prob.

PS: in India they are selling the GPRS capable modem for 3,000 Indian Rupees... which is about 8000 Here.. not worth actually since it only has GPRS and edge
