Bharti Airtel Limited, an Indian telecom giant and one of Asia's leading integrated telecom service provider, launched itself in Sri Lanka on Monday. Speaking to the Press Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman and Managing director, Bharti Airtel said that Bharati have always believed in undertaking business projects that are transformational and have a positive impact on the society at large. With this Airtel will be the fifth telecom service provider in the country. The services have been launched on a state of the art 3.5 G network.

Announcing the cheapest mobile rates in the country Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of the Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel, one of Asia's leading integrated telecom services launched its services in Sri Lanka today.
The fifth cellular operator in Sri Lanka, Bharti Airtel published their tariff package this morning with totally free incoming call charges.
According to the CEO of Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka, Amalie Nanayakkara, the outgoing charges for Airtel is Rs. 2.00 per minute until March 31st and thereafter it will be increased to Rs. 2.50 per minute.
At the beginning Airtel will cover only five provinces in Sri Lanka. The company hopes to spread their services in Uva and North Central provinces in the near future.
The company has invested US $ 200 million for its operations in Sri Lanka over the next five years.

The service packs feature unconditional free incoming calls, attractive call rates and lower roaming charges at a very reasonable price.
There are plans to invest about USD 200 million in this project.

Airtel offers mobile phone users a fixed charge to call any network that will now ensure that any calls made either outside network or within network will charge them same as well as the simple tariff plan also let subscribers enjoy unlimited talk time all through out at a standard rate. Further, there will be customer-relevant Value Added Services.
Bharti Airtel has developed a community of partners by signing a three-year network managing deal for carrying out its operation efficiently. Airtel has signed up Huawei and IBM for IT infrastructure and application supports and partnered with iSmart Timex for customer care service.
