Macho mehemay..I was facing the same problem.. hope below information would help you..

**This inbuilt CD/DVD writing method is ok with DVD data disks and CD data disks, I'm not recommend it for other formats (VCD,DVD video,MP3 and etc...)
So what my conclusion is, use Nero new versions which compatible with VISTA and WIN7 (nero 9 is ok)**

in your situation, the dialog box has two options

    1. 1st option means - The DVD will be a data disk and you can use it only in latest windows versions ( win xp, Vista, win7 )
mey widihata gahuwoth macho ube empty DVD eka format wela window ekak enawa, ekedi karanna thiyenne ubata ona files copy and paste karanna witharay. api hithamu uba 3 GB data burn kara kiyala(1GB left ne) ae 1GB ubata passe welawaka aya use karanna puluwan oya widihatama..methanadi ara kalin write wechcha 3GB walata wenasak wenne na(eka erase wenne na) mey wage ubata ona ona welawata ae DVD ekata data add karanna puluwan..
HABAY DVD EKA ACCEPT KARANNE WINDOWS XP, VISTA, WINDOWS7 WALA WITHARAY..

    2. 2nd option means - eka sarayay write karanna puluwan, aye DVD eke ida thibbath use karanna ba..habay DVD/CD eka ona OS ekaka wada karanawa.

I hope u understand something bro:),
thawa wisthara ona nam kiyapan...always welcome :):)

Nero Nathiwa Karanna Widiayak Nadda Machan?

    1st Option

alright I thought your trouble was solved but it seems to be still exist
I have Windows 7 64bit and have been using since 2009 October

the first option is for making the DISK (it doesn't matter DVD CD or BluRAY what ever it's DISK)as pen drive it means you can write again and again
    (like a CD/DVD-RW- Re Writable)
without using a new disk but there is a condition with CD/DVD/HDDVD - R
(R means Recordable another word is Writable )that's is you can't get the space that you have already used even you can delete them from the disk officially ,(example you have got a 700MB DISK and you write it partially let's say 300MB and free space is 400MB and another time you want to delete that wrote data on to the disk okay you can delete that but you can't get the 400MB space again but in My Computer ->CD ROM doesn't show anything it means it has been completed deleted officially)

but with CD/DVD-RW ,it doesn't matter ,you can get that free space whenever you want ,so that option is recommend if you have a CD/DVD-RW DISK ,unless it's useless but still fine

also remember with that option windows limits the Readability of DISK to Windows OSs (in that case Windows Xp and Greater OSs - Operator Systems) so you can't use your DISK with Linus /apple OSs/ Windows 98 ,2000 etc..

Windows might format the disk for preparation

    2nd Option

The 2nd Option is recommend for permanent writing ,so if you have a CD/DVD-R disk then select this because DISK won't be able to written onto again ,once you made this option ,it's done and you can't use that DISK for writing (Reading Only) even it's a CD/DVD-RW disk but the advantage of selecting this option is you can use that disk with any OS (Linux ,apple OSs ,windows 98 unlike the 1st Option) and the lifetime is pretty long rather than the 1st option because it uses the different method
