According to articles on the internet, it's easier to maintain a hybrid vehicle compared to a non-hybrid due to the fact it has less wear-off of the engine. Correct me if this is wrong in Sri Lankan scenario.

Well a non-hybrid car simply doesn't have a hybrid system to wear off or to maintain - it's way less complicated than a hybrid too, even a trained monkey can take care of most of the issues, figuratively speaking

A hybrid being easier to maintain is just bull.

BTW if we are going to change the car in 5 years is it better to go for a hybrid or a non-hybrid? Based on Sri Lankan scenario.

If you're buying it BN you can't go wrong either way when it comes to maintenance, about the resale value, non-hybrids would comparatively depreciate less I guess

Frequent stop-starts also wear-off the engine and also puts strain on mounts etc.

Depends on how you interpret "good vehicles"

If you think a good vehicle should have low maintenance cost and high reliability Allions and Premios are the good vehicles, if you think low fuel cost and low emissions make a vehicle good, hybrids win
