Well, it's not 512MB. Whole 1GB can be used. But one GPU can only use 512MB. It's definitely not as the same as one card using 1GB, but since the work load is divided, the RAM bottleneck is not applicable most of the times :/

Yes you are right. I didn't know it divides work frame wise. I thought maybe top half of a frame on one and the bottom half on another
