Mr Malshan... Its nice to meet you hear. There are few lucky people inherit ANGAM from they family's.
According to legends and "RAWANA Katha" founder of ANGAMPORA is IRISHI PULASHTHI (Grand father of Emperor RAWANA).

In Sri Lanka there are three familys (ANGAM MADU) who practice ANGAM.

1 SUDHALIYE clans (area of Sudhaliye clans is HANGURANKETHA)

2 MARUWALLIYE clans (area of Maruwalliye clans is EDANDUWAWA MATALE)

3 KOTTE clans (these clan is not very popular but they played big role in KOTTE Kingdom when VI Prakramabahu King Unite and bring whole country under one flag.)

But i know these days we can find so many ANGAM classes and they saying they are the one who practicing original ANGAM. Its a sad story.

According to some old ANGAM masters most of them are doing shits.

I published these details for guys who interesting about ANGAMPORA.

Machan NAGAYA you can learn ANGAM if you realy want. But there are some principles that you must obey..

Yah thats true.. there are so many ppl doing Angam classes. Most of them are don't know about Angam. They teach some mix thing from Karate kickboxnig and all. But poor Angam loving students don't know about this so they follow they teachers and they think they learning pure Angam.

Example for one of this fake teacher is Ajantha Prera from Korathota Kaduwela. Guys i met this Ajantha before 2 or 3 years back he gave me his visiting card (still i have that visiting card) according to his visiting card he's a Karate and Judo teacher.
I saw his article of Sandalla (Silumina) 3 monthes back. In that article he put the pic of old guy with white beard and identify him as a his grand father and Angam teacher died before 5 years. But after 1 month in that Sandalla paper put a note from writer who wrote Ajantha's article asking apologize to misguide readers of sandalla also in that note old guy that Ajantha identify as his died grand father says his not Ajantha's grand father and he did no tech anything to him(actually he's not a Angam teacher and his live) thats the better truth about Ajantha Perera but guys unfortunate thing is he has a strong pull from his back.

My second example is Chagi Bandara from Maharagama he's also fake Angam teacher in this society. I know him personally he's a good TAI KUN DO player he played TAI KUNDO for the Maharaga Youth Center. He's also Yoga teacher. And i know some well known Angam teacher is refuse to tech Angam to him cause of his quality's.


above mentioned teachers( i don't like to call them as a teachers) doing this for money and for become a famous.
Guys i know these details are true and also i can prove.

According to our great actor and historians Mr JACKSON ANTHONY and Mr JAYANTHA CHANDRASIRI (Historian and Director of "Dhandubasnamanaya & Akalasandya)

Guru Ginialu ge Karunapala (G.Karunapala) practicing pure Angam for his students. Why these Mr Jackson and Jayantha saying this ??? cause for Jackson Anthonys movie "ABA" is a great historical movie made regarding King PANDUKABAYA's life story. For this movie Mr Jackson thought to use Angam as a martial art. So he start to reading & experiment about Angam and before he choose a Angam martial artist as a his stunt director he visit the 78 Angampora teachers and classes in whole island. Cause he need to use pure Angam for his movie. He visit 78 angam martial artiest (Ajantha Perera, Chagi Bandara...etc.etc) and carefully observe all the 78 angam artiest and they fights, plays ("ath Haramba, Kadu Haramba, Pollu Haramba, gata puttu..ect ect). Finally he select G. Karunapala as a pure Angam artiest and the stunt director of his movie "ABA"

Jackson Anthony said above story at the "Muhurath festival" of Movie ABA for describe choosing Angampora as a martial art of movie and Guru Karunapala as a stunt director of movie.
