If you have a less majority in a certain area,
stop all the people voting in that area.

If you have 500
and oposition have 1500
that is 1000 votes majority for oposition.
If you can stop all of them you lose 500
but you gain 1000 in return
because if you allow it will cancel 100 votes form other places.

Simple maths.
But very effective.
Terrorism can help achiving this.
Some say that Premadasa used it in
presidential election.

Prabha helped King Mahinda
by using this technique.
