Are there any biomedical engineers here? I want to advance my career by simulating body organs. There are a few things I would like to clarify about this field. I would really appreciate it if someone could reply to this thread.

Wooow! very impressive stuff back then. I'd die to know what are you doing now?I have sit through some biomedical related modules as a University instructor. It was mostly related to signal processing and mechatronics. Basic biology,Anotomy were there..MRI, ECG related things with improving visualisation of signal and lowering signal to noise ratio etc. 2D fourier Transform was essential and statistical signal processing statistical desicion making..etc..too..
Matlab was the main software used for many calculations and visualisation.
This was 8 years back...
I'm doing my own thing..Wooow! very impressive stuff back then. I'd die to know what are you doing now?
BioMedical Engineering is another course which is usually under the umbrella of an Engineering Faculty. The course will include Machanical , Mechatronics, Electronics, Chemical & Materials Engineering. Then you go on to specialise in Biotechnology, Nanoscale biotechnology, Bionics etc.Are there any biomedical engineers here? I want to advance my career by simulating body organs. I want to work on simulating bone and organs related processes in the biomedical field. What do you think of this profession?used to be one not anymore
I'm sorry for not being specific about my question earlier. I'm interested in modeling and simulating body parts, particularly using FEM in the biomedical field. Could you recommend the skills that I should have before pursuing a job as a biomedical engineer who specializes in modeling and simulating bones, organs, and other body parts overseas? Since this is a very niche field, it's challenging to find someone to seek advice from. I would really appreciate it if you could reply to me. Thank you!BioMedical Engineering is another course which is usually under the umbrella of an Engineering Faculty. New frontiers in this area include Bone, Tissue & Stem-Cell Engineering.
Usually BioMedical guys work with team of Doctors & other Medical scientists. That's how all these new medical products like the Cochlear Implants, most other implantable devices, Robotic arms, heart pumps, valves, artificial pancreas, external devices like Imaging equipment and medical lab testing equipment were developed. It's a combined team effort that includes many medical professionals.
PS: Why don't write what you need to clarify. I am not a biomedical engineer obviously, but there would be some in here. I have worked with a few of them though.
