I'm here to ask that too

I did a bit of research on the subject once. Its difficult to mine on PC hardware these days. There are dedicated hardware for that purpose. But they get outdated very fast because of the increasing difficulty in mining. There are some services know as cloud mining. I highly doubt whether you can actually make any profit out of it though.

But I have been told that you can make a decent profit from trading bitcoin though.

That would be the return if you buy the antminer s9 (without the electricity cost). The annual estimated return is almost the price of the hardware. But your hardware won't be able to deliver the same output for a long time due to increasing difficulty.

The things is the starting costs would be immense if we are to make a profitable income to my knowledge.
    And it'll eat electricity

You could do this in a good pc config but the GPU hardware will be eaten...
So you would need a miner..

And this was done many years ago, and it would have made a fortune since the value of bitcoins have skyrocketed.
But don't think it's probable now.

But I'm interested to know where this thread is going. Will keep in touch :)
