    Tsunami alert on Sri Lanka will be reviewed after one hour, says the Meteorological Department. However, residents of the coastal areas in the East are requested to be on alert.

    Meanwhile the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre says, "Due to the downward revision of the earthquake magnitude to 7.5 as well as additional analysis of the earthquake, the area of the watch is now reduced to only India. All other regions formerly under a watch are now removed from the watch."
