Namitha has issued a statement which says: “I have said ‘No’ to IIFA to be held in Colombo. How can I attend the function after hearing so many brutal stories of human rights violation against the Tamils in Sri Lanka? It is the Tamil people who made me what I am today. I may be a Gujarathi by birth but I will not do anything that may hurt the sentiments of Tamil people who are responsible for my living today”.
