Seven LTTE bodies had also been recovered by the army,” the ministry said.The ministry added that troops had recovered one 120 mm heavy mortar gun, two 81 mm mortar guns, hundreds of mortar rounds, five T-56 assault riffles, a tractor, two motor bikes, four intercoms, a pair of binoculars and  a few other items of military equipment, during the initial search operation conducted in the area.“The ground troops have also observed scattered bodies of killed LTTE cadres lying ahead of the established defences,” it added.</blockquote>
