Seven LTTE bodies had also been recovered by the army,” the ministry said.</p><p></p><p>The ministry added that troops had recovered one 120 mm heavy mortar gun, two 81 mm mortar guns, hundreds of mortar rounds, five T-56 assault riffles, a tractor, two motor bikes, four intercoms, a pair of binoculars and a few other items of military equipment, during the initial search operation conducted in the area.</p><p></p><p>“The ground troops have also observed scattered bodies of killed LTTE cadres lying ahead of the established defences,” it added.</p></blockquote><p></p>
