The Curse of the Pharaohs refers to the belief that any person who disturbs the mummy of an Ancient Egyptian pharaoh is placed under a curse.
Though there had been stories of curses going back to the nineteenth century they multiplied in the aftermath of Howard Carter's discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamen.

When, in November of 1922, Howard Carter discovered the Tomb of Tutankhamen, in the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank at Luxor

"They who enter this sacred tomb shall swift be visited by wings of death."

Lord Carnarvon
financed Howard Carter's explorations.
He had been bitten by a mosquito, and later slashed the bite accidentally while shaving. It became infected and blood poisoning resulted. . Carnarvon fell ill and, with his resistance lowered, came down with pneumonia and eventually passed away at the age of 57.

George Jay Gould died in the French Riviera on May 16, 1923 after he developed a fever following a visit to the tomb.

Watch :The Curse of King Tut's Tomb (2006) (TV)

Today, archaeologists wear protective gear when unwrapping mummies. In 1999, Gotthard Kramer, a German microbiologist from the University of Leipzip, suggested that there might be some truth to the mummies curse. Studying 40 different mummies, he identified several potentially dangerous mold spores. He believes that when tombs were first opened, fresh air could have disturbed these spores, blowing them into the air, and perhaps, creating health problems.

What made it reach such a climax?
Athula forgot his own teachings about Anithya and went against a direct rule laid by GRTZ.

    Nice observation!

    I found this:

Many people believed the curse of King Tut to be true, until
1986. In 1986 a French doctor, Caroline Stenger-Phillip, found an
explanation for the mysterious deaths. Dr. Stenger-Phillip stated that
since there were fruits and vegetables in the tomb, it was very likely
that they grew mold and formed organic dust particles. These particles
may have had a high allergenic potency. He also claimed that the
archaeologists had an allergic reaction after breathing in these
particles which led to their death. He did not believe that the curse
of King Tut was the cause for the mysterious deaths.

Damn I missed the thread.... But the guy had a bright side too... But it was too diminished due to his constrictive thinking, and morality... He seemed to be of a different social character
