A Sydney man Ahmad Chamma, 26, have married a child aged 13 according to Islamic traditions in New South Wales Australia.
He was later charged over allegations of a live-in sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl and now the Local Sydney court hearing the case has refused him bail. He has allegedly met the girl in Hunter region back in 2012 and became involved in a sexual relationship with her since then.
They have later moved to a house in South West side in Sydney where he continues to sexually abuse her. Police say the couple were married in an Islamic religious ceremony earlier this year while the bride being a school girl aged only 13.
Ahmed was charged for 25 counts of sexual intercourse with a child aged between 10 and 14 years as he made a brief appearance at Burwood local court on Friday and spoke with the help of an Arabic interpreter.
The girl has been transferred to a children home and is under close monitoring.
