.avi files doesn't work...why?

I reinstalled windows and now .avi files are not working

It is the same windows cd i have installed before...it is the same media player 11 i used before

now i cannot play .avi files....only audio comes...What might be the problem

U have to install DIVX codec....
or install aplayer like jet audio..

WMP needs to have the appropriate codecs installed to play these files....
Alternatley you can choose to get the VLC player as the codecs are already installed....

then avi files will play in Media player....

You have to reinstall the codecs to play DivX or XviD encoded files. . .

I was wondering why it happened only this time....i used the same windows cd and same media player version many times before
