Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si
Bajaj displayed XCD Sprint concept at the Auto Expo 2008 in New Delhi. Finally, it has been launched with a 135cc engine. But Bajaj India has changed the name - it is now XCD 135.
May be Bajaj has kept "Sprint" Suffix for the upcoming Discover 150. New XCD 135 looks quite eye-catching, especially as an upgrade from the 100-110cc bikes we're used to.
But as far as design is concerned it looks more or less same like the XCD 125. The Concept bike shown at Auto Expo was a superb design having chrome finished tail lamp with LEDs inside. Also the headlamp was more aggresive looking.
XCD 135's headlamp looks like a carryover from Discover 135. It has familiar styling & design of the present line up of Bajaj Bikes. The Headlamp, Side-Panels, Tail Lamps reminds you of the bigger Pulsars and the Discover.
Though the build quality looks very good and feels like a well put together motorcycle. It also boasts of a self starter which is a delightful feature to have.
The switches are among the best in its segment and are pretty comprehensive. It is aimed at the customers in the value segment looking for a sporty alternative.
XCD 135 comes with following features: - Digital Speedometer
- Analog Tachometer
- Black Matt Alloy Wheels
- MistiFying Front Fairing
- Electric Start
- Special Graphics for Petrol Tank
- Slim Back rail
- Purely Different Back Light
- Nitrox Shocks and quite a Bigger one
- Lowered Handle Bar
- Front Disc Brake
- Quite Bigger tyres than XCD 125 probably 90/100
XCD 135 is available in 3 Variants:
- XCD 135 KS - with Kick start - Rs. 43000.00
- XCD 135 ES - with electric start - Rs. 45000.00
- XCD 135 DBES - with electric start & front disc brake - Rs. 47000.00
In 2009, Bajaj Auto will roll out six models out of which three, including the new XCD 135, will cater to the mid-segment while the remaining trio will play in the premium motorcycle category.
