Pinwath mithura,
Yes

I agree with you totally... Thank you for bringing forth the issue of forgetting one's parents... Yes, the situation is grave...
I appreciate the way Islam is practiced properly

(at least better than how Buddhism is practiced)
That's because you follow your religion faithfully...

not seeking to change the words of The Holly Text...

Unfortunately Buddhists have get used not to practice their religion with the correct aim
Situation is so bad that it's only during funeral proceedings that many Buddhists talk/think about Nibbana (End of the Path Buddhists are to follow) and impermanence (Anithyathawa) of life. As explained in our religion a dead body has no worth than a piece of log... both of them will disintegrate at the end to elements like soil, water, heat, air...
We belive in reincarnation; and a person gets another life right after the death... and the chance of being able to help a dead is very very very narrow... Because many beings (e.g. most of us) are not even aware of the past lives; so how come relatives heklp the deceased when they get born somewhere else? According to Dhamma only certain beings in Pretha realms may get Punyanumodahana that we do...
That's why we should practice Dhamma while we are alive... Unfortunately most people plan only for this life; not for life after death...
Hopefully the situation might improve in the coming years...
Theruwan saranai!
