this is not a security matter this is only financial enterprise. it is a normal thing in any country to have privet companies which use fire arms to provide security and aventguard is not the first company in sri lanka who had armed division the MONARO group is the first company to bear arms as far as i know.
there may be wrong things done with this company but if the person who controls the government wants weapons he can procure as much as he wanted without any registration of arms.
in the aventguard only pensioned ex-service men are utilized for weapon duties( military personnel can go on pension after 12 to 20 years of service they retire at young age) so they can earn good amount of money (100000 to 300000 Rs) .
even though this is new thing to our country privet security companies are very popular in the world eg BLACKWATER,DYNCORP,GLOBAL RISK ect. these PMCs work in the IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN ect.
why ex military people work on this PMC because they pay very good salaries. one of my friend (sri lankan) work in BAGRAM Afghnistan having about 220 USD per day for perimeter security of a US Air Force Base. he say that he earn 220 USD because he is an Asian the but Western contractors are being paid as much as 500 USD per day. so i think its a good bisness which provide financial security to ex military persons .
