Bomb explosion in Pollgolla [2nd Lead]
A bomb has been exploded in side a public transport bus near the Youth Centre in Polgolla, Kandy short while ago, June 6.
According to an initial report, the explosion occurred around 3.50 p.m. in side a bus which was plying from Mathale to Kandy.
Kandy hospital sources said that 6 civilians have already been admitted to the hospital following the explosion. The casualties are still being evacuating into the hospital, sources further said.

An explosion occurred near the Youth Centre in Polgolla, Kandy a short while ago (June 6). It is reported that 2 people have died and 12 other injured as a result. This is the second explosion to occur today; 21 people were killed in a claymore explosion that targetted a bus earlier in the day in Katubedde, near the Moratuwa University. Both incidents carry the signature of the LTTE, an internationally condemned, ruthless terrorist outfit.
According to SP Kingsley Ekanayake, the explosion has occurred in a private bus plying between Wattegama and Kandy close to the Teacher-Training College in Polgolla. This was also confirmed by Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara.
The private bus was plying to Kandy from Wattegama when the explosion occurred.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Police.
The Government appeals to all citizens to remain calm and to support the efforts of the heroic security forces by maintaining utmost vigilance at all times.

The LTTE terrorists have carried out a cowardly bomb attack inside a public transport bus around 3.50 p.m in Pollgolla, Kandy today, June 6.
The bus, bearing number cp HG 7503, was plying from Waththegama to Kandy, and the explosion occurred near the Teachers' Training School in Polgolla, sources said.
According to the available information 2 civilians were killed while another 20 more suffered injuries due to the explosion. Kandy hospital sources said 6 victims suffered injuries have already been admitted to the hospital
Meanwhile, a suspect believed to be have connection to the bomb explosion has already been taken into custody, police sources said. A search is now underway in the area.
