BREAKING NEWS-Minister Dasanayaka appointed as the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka

Parliment Minister. Mr. Dasanayaka has been appointed as the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, in replcement to the Asoka Ranwala who resigned due to the controversy around his educational qualifications, Ranwala tendered his resignation as the speaker of the Parliament on 13 December 2024. Mr. Dasanayaka has been appointed by the president hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake,

Dasanayake was first elected to Uva Provincial Council at the 1994 provisional council election, he served in a number of positions, including as the Provincial Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs
