India beat Sri Lanka 2-0 to become top Test team
Series Review: From the Lankan point of view, only Mahela and Dilshan got runs, although Sangakkara got a hundred in this match. Samaraweera could not maintain his Bradmaneque average in this series and failed to deliver the goods. PJ impressed with his bat, but failed miserably with the gloves, dropping so many chances and looking a pale shadow of his former self. Murali had a pedestrian series - that contributed hugely to India's series victory. Herath, though was the bowler who caught the eye as he persevered to take wickets. Welegedera stuck to his strengths and was rewarded as well. In the end it was a disappointing series for Lanka, as they failed to win a Test on Indian soil this time as well.

Sachin, VVS, Yuvraj and Dhoni too had their moments. Coming to the bowling, Sreesanth made a fabulous comeback, while Zaheer continued to be the spearhead of the attack. Harbhajan too shone, finally it was a fine, fine team effort from the Indians.
Dhoni: Now we have got to maintain the top slot. The real tough task starts from here, we have got to keep up the momentum. When we are pushed to the wall, we comeback, overall I think it was a team effort from the boys. If Viru bats for more than one day, then the opposition is in trouble. If we get a huge score, then we can put pressure on the batsmen. The morning session helped the bowlers more. Zaheer is aggressive, both in his bowling and his body language, the wickets did not help the seamers, yet he bowled quite well. The catching was quite good, we caught everything and that mattered.
