Bringing a 50inch TV

I'm working overseas and I wanna know whether I can ship it to Sri Lanka and get it myself customs. I heard that there is a restriction for TVS more than 42inches.

pls check if the size is available at katunayaka duty free for duty free price. if that size is available for duty free prices u can ship it here. i think the largest one katunayaka had was 42. not sure about the present situation. if that is the case u have to pay duty for the oversize TV. if u had to pay duty that is not economical machang.

and u have to come with ur passport, to paliyagda warehouses to clear it, if u send it to someone elses name, then the tax will be higher. there are tax reductions for ppl who worked overseas and shipping their household items.

but if u know anyone who works in those warehouses (custom) it might be easier

PS - when u compare the prices of new tvs on wow, labai sites u may think twice of going through all those troubles to send a TV here, with the shipping costs as well..
