Just a thought. There are some Buddhist monks walking across the USA for peace. As they walk they are welcomed in cities, paid respect and taken care of. These monks I believe are from Thailand and Vietnam. I wonder why in Sri Lanka with so many priests and temples and talk of Buddhism, there are no such activity for any positive cause. All we see are monks seated in comfortable chairs preaching and basking in comfort and glory. Some are creating disharmony and disunity among the communities with their political rhetoric. I am sure there are priests who are living in difficult conditions and doing their best for the well being of society but the point is, there seems to be very little positive activity to educate and bring awareness to society of the need for harmony and peace.
