While they are admittedly unfair in certain circumstances, the laws are there to prevent much greater harm. For example, we could do away with this age of consent thing. But that would be  great chance for some pedophile. He could rape a child and say s/he consented. So at the end of the day, my opinion is that humans should be able to do whatever they want, as long as it is done with their consent and free will, and if they are above the legal age. Not only the physically strong are fit to survive. There are other important characteristics too. But in the natural selection system, only the physically strong will thrive. While that works for the jungle, it doesn't do in this world we have now. (Physically strong people may have no brains, and weak people may still be great inventors etc.. Human society depends in human intelligence and invention.) Also, if we went by the law of the jungle, any idiotic male will be able to control me and own me like in the dark ages, just by physical strength.
