The same sources say the President who chaired this special cabinet meeting had informed the cabinet that it had still not received any official notice on the Supreme Court decision to take any decision. Price of a litre of petrol therefore would remain at LKR 122/- accordingly, despite the SC ruling that it be reduced from midnight yesterday (Dec 17). Meanwhile "LankaDissent" learns, the new Attorney General has been asked, whether a motion could be filed with the SC tomorrow, requesting a revision on the price as adviced by the Cabinet of Ministers.
