Campaign to urge Murali not to retire

A group of Sri Lankan cricket enthusiasts have started a campaign asking veteran spinner Muttiah Muralitharan not to retire and go on for the magical 1000 Test wicket mark. The off-spinner two weeks ago announced that he would retire from Tests next year after being troubled by a knee injury that kept him out of the recent Test series against Pakistan.
The supporters are planning to send as many as one million e-mails to Murali’s mentor Kushil Gunasekara, the former cricket board secretary urging the bowler to continue for a few more years.
Muralitharan is the highest wicket taker in both Tests and ODIs.
The e-mail originated by one Yoshitha Ediriweera read, "E-mail Murali’s Manager Kushil Gunasekera asking him to request Murali NOT to retire until he takes 1000 Test wickets. Target is One Million E-mails. Ask all your friends to send emails. We must pressurize Murali NOT to retire.

This is crazy, Murali is 37 Now, he is no longer fit enough to bowl 50 overs an inning with same vigour, he has a knee injury & a young family, let him get rid of injury & go spend quality time with the growing family. We shouldnt be too greedy, after all he had done his bit & way more to Sri Lanka & world cricket,

Let him have his life back!!!

Surely we can't pressure Murali for not to retire.. but surely we can ask him for reconsideration about his decision to retire..
