> This is a very personal request from me on behalf of the Army Seva Vanitha
unit, to request your assistance to fund for a worthy
scholarship programme.
There are many children of poor soldiers who are awaiting
assistance for
education. Their fathers have been killed in action,
missing in action or
have been disabled for life. Though they receive a monthly
salary it is
without the allowances, and the young widows find it very
difficult to
maintain and manage the families. Most of these families
have very young
children and they go through misery in silence, without
realizing that their
fathers gave their tomorrow for all of us.
In order to make sure these children are at least provided
with basic
education, the army seva vanitha unit has established a
fund, offering
scholarships for these needy children.
2 categories :
Children aged 1 to 5 Rs. 750/- per month
Years 6 to O/L and A/L – Rs. 1,000/- per month
The cheques can be drawn in favour of ; SEVA VANITH
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Account No; 049-2-001-7- 2033773; People's Bank at Army
Headquarters.
You can sponsor a child for one year or continue. * If you
need to establish
direct links with the families, that too can be arranged. *
You may be already a sponsor or a foster parent for a
deserving child,
however it will be appreciated if you could recommend
your friends &
relatives (especially living overseas) to help this worthy
cause. Do call me

Please remember they sacrificed their life and their family
to make sure
that we are safe. It is not whether we pay tax or not, but
our
responsibility and duty as Sri Lankans to salute them with
gratitude.
