Well, I bought a Canon IP3500 a few weeks ago but the only problem is I finished the cartridges in just one and a half weeks! 
So I actually used my old BC-05 Inktec ink with it! and it worked 
but it was messy coz I didn't have a refill kit.
I also found that InkTec makes a real match to Canon's ink! (actually it was more color rich so I was even able to lower the intensity -10! (The ink output amount).
But the only sad part is even though there is Bulk (120ml) ink bottles for black. The InkTec people said there is no Color Bulk ink
I wish that someone would start to import InkTec Color 120ml bottles for Canon. I'd buy 1x120ml black and 3x120ml color for sure! 
I also asked around and there is the JetBoss brand but I'm scared to use it because some inks don't have good color and they dry inside the print head and clog it. And since the IP3500's head is non-replaceable.... its going to be bye bye printer.
