I used to set care tyre pressure to 32 for last 6 years
But recently went to change car tyres and there, the owner said that I should set it to 28 psi

He also said that, it is a misbelief of setting it to 32 and if I do so the car would start to vibrate and start to make sounds.

He is not an idiot but an engineer in motor mechanics with Msc completed in the UK.

    What do you think guys.?
I think he's correct. The recommended tyre pressure for mine is 34 and I've used it for like a year and felt it's too much. Now I'm keeping 30 for the front and 28 for the back. Feels much better now.

Also, remember to check the pressure when the tyres are cold.

    28-34 psi

හුලන් ගහල ඩ්‍රයිව් කරල බලපන් උඹට සෙට් වෙන්නෙ කොහොමද කියල (depending on road conditions, load/weight, temperature, atmospheric pressure, suspension setup, rubber compound in the tyres, etc.)

    වැඩිපුර ගැහුවොත් MPG වැඩි වෙයි. Acceleration අඩු වෙයි (higher rotating mass) + brake performance අඩු වෙයි (less traction)
Yep. Deka deka adu karala balanna one. Mulin 30 karala balanawa

32 is for made in japan tires. Those rubbers can handle the vibration. For others can't go above 28 in sl roads. Not good for vehicle bushes and shocks. It's not a misbelif it is the recommended pressure but not suited for sl

Can't give exact figures w/o your vehicles' make and model but generally, manufacturers recommend 32psi for vehicles they export to ASEAN countries (and Sri Lanka shares that set of recommendations almost all the time)

You can find manufacturers recommended tyre pressures on the drivers side door sil/B pillar, however for JDM vehicles that recommendation is set according to Japanese road and weather conditions
I also have a set of Goodyear (Japanese and German) tyres and I’m also pumping 28psi and the manufacture recommendation is 32psi. 32is too much as I feel. May be the rubber is now old and got hardened 😢 or something. Need to look for new tyres now. 😬

I've been pumping 32 since the car was brand new and had no issues 🤷‍♂️

Can be. But he is having money ban. Very well an educated guy. Not money minded at all. I didn't fix the tyres from him.

    Went to change rear shocks.
I had Yokohama tyres in my car.. with good pressure it was smooth.. recently had to change all 4 tyres...used a Chinese tyre..rubber seems bit hard . But i feel it vibrates a bit with the recommended pressure..need to lower a bit and check...

Unfortunately roads I drive are not that good. 😢

Under inflation has it's downsides. It increases the rolling resistance, thus increasing the fuel consumption, creates uneven tread wear and affects your braking.
Under inflation is estimated to lower mileage by around 0.4 percent for every one PSI drop in pressure of all four tires.

Both Over-inflation and Under-inflation have their dangers. The best is what the manufacturer recommends.

NOTE : But if on a 4WD in sand (like the sand dunes in the Middle East or even on the beach) you need to deflate the tyres. It increases the contact pitch. The side walls bulge out and the vehicle will easily float in the sand. (instead of sinking)
Even while off-roading it's better to reduce the tyre pressure. You need to keep an inflator at hand to pump the tyres again when back on road.

Also lowering the pressure causes an increased risk of aquaplaning...
