and they all think its good....

and v dont kno wuts the meaning behind that line in the Tshirt. may be they sending a message to LTTE???? who knows man..... so lets c wuts happen tomoro..okie

chill... hail da lankans

All I'm saying is looking at the current situation, LTTE would do anything to stage some propaganda against us Sri Lankans... so we as Sri Lankans should be at least vigilant and not take anything for granted!

Appu-Army being the people who represents Sri Lankan national cricket team! cannot only talk about Tamil people's suffering.. regardless whether they are saying it to LTTE or not! Sri Lankan cricket team not only consist of Tamils.. it also consists of Muslims and Sinhalese too..

Anyway I'm cool!! ;) But lets be more vigilant about whats happening around us! :)

Hail da Lankans it is!!!

There have been NO protest nor any indication of LTTE support (like fund raising for them). Then how can you blame the Appu Army of being LTTE supporters? They're simply bringing their message across (which is that they want peace in those part of the country). Does this sounds like terriosm to you? You're a hypocrite! What happened to freedom of speech? Idiot! Go get a life. You're never getting laid in this life.

A group of people or an organization representing Cricket Team of Sri Lanka why only speaks for rights and freedom of Tamils? How about other races in the country?

Sri Lanka cricket team only consist of Tamils?

Oh! by the way.. don't mind your words! If getting laid is important to you then find a whore!

Expanding role of diaspora youth in political activism
[TamilNet, Saturday, 16 February 2008, 21:17 GMT]
Signs of increasing number of diaspora Tamil youth in Australia and Canada seeking new outlets to express their support for the Tamil struggle, and reinforcing their roots in Tamil culture, were visible recently when Australian youths made their presence known during a cricket game on the 12th of February at the Manuka oval in Canberra, and the Canadian Tamil students from York University used Tamileelam flag as the rallying symbol as they exhibited prize winning entries in the cultural shows during the "multicultural week" event in York.

Canadian Tamil Youth at York UniversityDuring the week-long event in York University, the Tamil students organization was selected as the best group. "The goals of our group is to bring together the Tamil student community not only in York, but across all higher institutions in Canada, and to expose the student community to the cultural aspects that define our roots," key spokesperson for the group said.

More than 10,000 students and 60 different Student Organizations participated in the week-long event.

Sporting red T-shirts, with an Eelam map and “Voice of Tamils” written across the map and “Where is humanity?” Australian Tamil youth from Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne gathered on the 12th of February at the Manuka oval in Canberra to voice support for the Tamil struggle and to highlight the worsening humanitarian situation in the Tamil North East of Sri Lanka.

Yahoo.com quoted Adrian Francis from this group as saying "It's more of a campaign than a protest. "We are doing this because we believe that Tamils in Sri Lanka are discriminated against and poorly treated. They are subjected to injustice in every possible walk of life and this has to change.”

huh? did you read the article properly? It says "Interestingly there were a few Tamils wearing red T-shirts with a map of Sri Lanka that had "Voice of Tamils. Where's humanity" painted across the north and east, which has borne the bulk of the violence over the past few decades."

The word you loonitics keep missing is "few"... haha...

Let me ask you a question. Consider the Sri Lankan flag. What is in it that remotely suggest that Sri Lanka is a place for a tamil... forget tamil... a muslim... When those who are incharge put the thought of Sri Lanka being a singaleese country into people at a very early age, could you blame the "terriost" movement?

PS: I am not a strong supporter of this whole thing. I don't give a shit to be honest. But when people say something when it isn't, thats just wrong. Appu Army aint LTTE. It has FEW Tamil members.

I am a PROUD TAMIL. Does that makes this board LTTE? Come on!!!

Now I know your level of knowledge of Sri Lanka, and its flag!  A person doesn't even know the meaning of the flag of his country doest even worth a FART!!

Learn about the FLAG and come... what it signifies!! then we'll talk!! END OF STORY FOR YOU!!

If you do not know about the FLAG.. dont be shy.. ASK FOR IT.. we'll teach!!

Oh! yeah! it takes only 1 suicide bomber to take 20 lives.. so word "few" does make a difference! especially when it comes to terrorists!

actually, i did study in sri lanka for few years before coming to UK... there is no need to question my knoledge mate, because i can assure you, my knoledge in sri lankan politics may lack, but I sure am good at what I do and am proud of it.

The word 'few' there is very important;

It suggests 2 things:
1. Either the Appu Army is not made of entirely Tamils (hence not LTTE like you said)
nor
2. Not all tamils are affected by war (which is not true)

So... Conclusion: Appu Army is NOT LTTE.
Anyways, you still haven't answered my question. Enlighten me!

Ok! read carefully...

Before 1950's the flag only resembled Sinhalese.. in 1951 the flag was changed to represent the country's minorities as well..

You see this? Look carefully at the flag!

800px-Flag_of_Sri_Lanka.svg.png

The Green Stripe represents Muslims, The orange one next to it represents Tamils.. Lion on the Red background represents Sinhalese!

The four "Bo-Tree leaves" and the out line in yellow represents Buddhism as the main religion of the country!

Dude if you don't know.. then don't talk! At least ask! We'd be more than happy to teach......

As matter of fact... can you give me a nation other than SL... which has a flag that represents Tamils as a whole?

haha dude... thats exactly what i wanted to hear from you

see that yellow boarder thats seperating singaleese with tamils and muslims... ya... look at it very very carefully... see it?? (For noobs: That yellow boarder is seperating the minorities with majorities and suggesting that singaleese are greater than tamils and muslims combined... Things like this is whats causing the problem atm.)

I ask again... mate... when you put inequality into people's head at the very begining, can you blame "terriost" movement?

I am a proud British Tamil (even though I was born in Sri Lanka). If this is what Sri Lanka has to offer me, I don't need any assosiations with it. Thats whats in every Tamil's mind. At least try to see it from a Tamil's point of view. Thats the least you can do!

All Tamils are NOT LTTE! I agree.. I not only agree I know that for a fact!

But you havent answered my questions either..

1. If Appu-Army represents the whole Sri Lankan Cricket team.. why they print T-Shirts that only shout slogans for Tamils.. Sinhalese and Muslim suffers too.. did Appu-Army "forgot" to print T-Shirts for them?

here's new one..

2. What's the meaning of the print of Sri Lankan MAP that is exactly the EELAM Map.. so called

Appu Army's founding member(s) are Tamils.. Lal Samuel is one, who was educated in Jafna.. It is very easy to draw a connection!! So this kind of behavior make people suspicious!

NOT all Tamils are LTTE, but LTTE consists of TAMILS.. so help us identify who are the good ones! If you are TAMIL becareful of what you say and do!

for your 2nd point!

2. Not all tamils are affected by war (which is not true)

I did not say this.. but whats your point here anyway? I agree every Tamil is effected by WAR.. so does every Sinhalese and Muslim!

Here's a question for you man!

The two communities (Tamils and Singaleese) have, since 1948, symbolically in their minds, become two separate entities of their own volition. Why would anyone want the Tamils to declare that they do not want to separate, when it is the Sinhalese who wanted them outside their borders in the first place and continue to do so.

I have alot of singaleese friends here. I even went out with 2 singaleese girls and continue to befriend them. I have no problem with associating with singaleese people. I love your music. I love your culture. I love everything about buddhism (e.g. history, architecture etc) The question is, do you have any problem with assosiating with Tamils? Ask this question to your self and answer honestly. Then we'll talk.

I ask again... mate... when you put diversity into people's head at the very begining, can you blame "terriost" movement?

I am a proud British Tamil (even though I was born in Sri Lanka). If this is what Sri Lanka has to offer me, I don't need any assosiations with it. Thats whats in every Tamil's mind. At least try to see it from a Tamil's point of view. Thats the least you can do!

Now you change sides.. this what exactly your kind's nature from the very beginning.. sorry to say! (that's a fact too by the way about Tamils) Its the root if all problems! Greedy Tamil politicians asking for more than what they deserve!

You asked.. whether it represents Tamils.. YES it does... now what's your problem? the yellow line? you can decode the flag anyway you want.. not my problem!

You haven't answer my question yet... Sri Lanka at least put Tamils on a national flag.. anyone else have done that?

YOU ARE PROUD BRITISH TAMIL right?    So British have included Tamils in the flag? for you to become proud of British than Sri Lankan?

What are you talking about "Diversity"? Are you OK? Of course we talk about Diversity... because that's what wee need... not a divide and rule policy like LTTE who looking for a racially-pure homeland chasing away Sinhalese and Muslims from the North.. we value Diversity that's why South SL is far more diverse than North! Get your facts right!
