Isn't this the real opinion of people. People who did not come to vote are definitely are not supporters of Govt.
The number of Govt votes are very close to the number who didn't vote. (Just mere 71,000 more.)
What do you think...
:confused:Would the results be same in a general election

    dude its like this.

always when there is an election the ruling party of the country at that time uses every possible way to win the election LEGALLY or even ILLEGALLY. it has been proven many a times during elections. when they know that a certain electorate has been won by the opposition party continuesly for sumtime wat da govt wud do is make the registered votes from that area less. simple. jst say that they havnt registered or dont send them da polling cards. by this da ppl who will be voting for the opposition will b less and the people voting for the govt wudnt hav changed but eventually they will win!!

dis is wat is happening at all elections!

okay now you just tell me one occasion where the total votes cast exceeded 65% ??

and you think those who didn't vote are with the UNP? eh?

the truth is in every country there's a bunch of retarded loosers who has no idea about the value of democracy and they will always be there. they just don't give a damn fuck about it.

the only occasion where there was a record number of votes was for the chndrika's first term presidential election and that too was due to the fact that people were so fed up with 17 years of UNP that they just wanted some change... there's nothing mote to it man. just accept the truth.. that UNP lost and they lost hard.. as never before..

    dude tell me frankly.

wat has the war got to do with a damn election??
its jst dat da govt fools da ppl saying if the election is lost the war will be lost. Is the govt mad or are the ppl mad??

wats the connection between the two?? cant the army fight the damn f****** terrorist if there is a different party ruling in the country?? hw come its only wen the UPFA can win wars?? jst dumb. the economy is unstable, there is high inflation in the country and the poverty rates are going up and the govt says no problem. every thing is safe.

ill give u an example for hw the govt is lying to ppl k.
during this past election i was one day watching a news in a private media channel(not sirasa k) and they are showing a election rally where mahinda's brother is talking and he is saying all sorts or figures and stuff(i dont know where he gt them or hw much it was true) and then he started talking abt unemployment. he was saying that ppl are not loosing jobs in sri lanka altho the world is in a recession and that the unemployment rate has gone down by 6% during the last year only and all. after this news broadcast i was watching a business news report in another private media channel(not sirasa again) and here the Central Bank Governor says that ppl are loosing jobs and that unemployment rate is going up.

nw tell me this. which one am i supposed to believe?? a thing dat a politician says or wat a learned man who is also the high ranking person in the countries many bank says??

c these kind of stories are things that are not told in the damn govt channel news broadcast. only private media shows this and wat did govt do. they brought out an indirect campaign saying private media institutions are supporting the LTTE or the opposition and they are putting false news and then many ppl in the rural areas listen to them and they watch only the govt channel and then they believe every word that they says and then they jst keep quite. ppl who can think on their own will know the difference between them.

to finish off this comment ill jst say this and go.

hehe No need to talk about non- votes. why do you hide UNP's "Nohakiyawa".. In each an every place, we can see how many UNP supporters! Specialy new youth generation reject UNP. Because of Ranil. They must bring Sajith as a leader.

I don't think so... A war creates a lot of Papa karma for the leader who rules. In some past lives Buddha had refused to become a king for as a king one has to perform a lot of bad Karma.
So a country which is going for war needs a Leader who is strong enough to carry all the papa karmas on his shoulders.
 I think the voters has payed their respect for that in ths election.

just a simple question why did all past governments (including SLFP) failed at war and only present government is winning (winning at a record phase i'd say. its been only a 2 1/2 years remember!) did they bring a new army? what's the difference?
the truth is its the government that is running the war behind the scenes. true soldiers die at the front but without the governments backing and decision making the war wold've been an utter failure just as before.
govt has to absorb the pressure coming from international community and at the same time negotiate deals to buy military supplies and fight the media propaganda of terrorists and lot more..
with all this, MR govt. is doing a pretty good job i'd say, and it's good to see that people are supportive of it.

Every terrorist organization has it is end written... When the end of JVP came Premadasa put the fullstop and got the credit.
Now Mahinda... It is just the natural law.
