While stating that the general population will not be intentionally inconvenienced by stopping the electricity supply, Ceylon Electricity Board Employees’ Union Convener Ranjan Jayalal says that in case the power does go out, no one will be there to fix it
Jayalal made this statement while speaking to The Morning today (01).
“We are staging a huge protest on the 3rd of November. All employees of the CEB and Ports Authority will be attending this protest. They will be coming from all over the island. So, all I am saying is, if there is an involuntary power outage, no one will be there to fix the problem,” said Jayalal.
When further inquired whether a threat of that sort would urge the Government to reconsider the Yugadanavi deal, Jayalal said that the Government “will surely hear the protests when the crowd is large”.
