I am pretty sure this (http://www.lovelypal.com/speed.php) gives the current downloading speed while www.speedtest.net gives the actual available (nominated by the ISP) speed....

I hv 512Kbps line,

I think it doesnt show up the actual speed of our line, mine said
"Your Internet Speed is : streaming 128 Kb... Test finished in 11.4441599846 seconds. Your speed is 11.185Kb/s " (simple b ryt?)

but currently my utorrent speed is going 50.8 kB/s (cap B)

and I guess KB or kB(caps B) == kilo bytes
and kb(simple) == kilo bits

8 bits == 1 byte

well i guess this speed checker is not a good one, well i maybe wrong but that's wot i think..
