"The Colombo Night Races 2013, set to be the ‘festival of the year,’ will take place on the 15th of December.
The Colombo Night Races 2013 is organised by the Carlton Motor Sports Club in conjunction with the Asian Motor Racing Club (AMRC) and Sri Lanka Racing Riders Associations (SLRRA) and Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers& Riders (SLARDAR).
On the 13th of December a demo run and a photo shoot will be organized in the heart of Galle leading to the event. Additional events set to take place include a classic car show by The Classic Car Club of Ceylon and a massive fireworks display”.
Entries for the motor cars were for the following classes – Formula McLarens 1300cc carbureted, Formula McLaren’s 4 1300cc EFI, SLAS Homologated Cars SL-H (Up to 1600 cc), SL-GT (Grand Touring Cars) up to 3500 cc and SL – S Specials up to 1500.
Tickets for the races have been priced from between Rs. 100 – Rs. 5000. The track will be shorter than last year and entry points to witness the race have also been limited to three as opposed to four gates last year."
