Is it that the UNP has won the City areas because tampering is difficult compared to the suburbs where tampering is easy for one thing less population greater opportunity and also the distances for transport of ballot boxes from the booths to the counting centres is longer.

I was a strong UNP supporter but anymore, Colombo City community is brain dead due to dust & smoke from garbage vehicles etc, if not clean sweep for PA!!!

It is like a dark cloud in a sunny day. President and ministers paid for their foolishness that is the choice of Buffaloes and Donkeys as candidates. General public were sensitive enough to know the good or bad. This is something bad in the name of good. Who ever responsible for the selection of candidates have **** on what has achieved by soldiers. Oh man, what are you going to tell the international community now?

We gave a clear notice to UNP. We are still with you but we dont want unnecessary problems & too many leaders. Ranil prove that your ready to take the country. Chase idiots who is trying to become leaders. Also you did a big mistake by taking SB. Dont do it again with Mangala. We need UNP, but wait till war over to take the power. Once again confirmed where the LTTE supporters are.These people are not concern about the unification of the Country,they are only worried about short term benefits only.People has once again shown their gratitude to the present Government for defeating Terrorism.President has the opportunity to grab the situation and become one of the greatest leaders of our generation.Be honest now.As a beginning Stop corruption from your Samagama.I think they have earned enough for few generations .Now give something more to the Country.Control your siblings,then nobody can beat you .

Let this be the beginning of a new horizon to open for the UNP. In latter part of 1950s after the electoral debacle in 1956 it is the Colombo Voters gave UNP the strength to forge ahead which culminated in 1977 gaining 5/6th of the electorate. Ranil, you can do it.

LTTE circled to one corner and will lose that corner too in next few days. From election UNP circled to another corner in Sri lanka and will lose that seats too in next few days. at least the people in colombo got the guts and brains to do the correct thing ... all those others under the delima "vote for the ethinic conflict"true but that dosent mean they will resolve the other issues of the country .. will see some how now the majority have won ... but please don't complain about other issues . since you all wanted PA to win .

The only people who could not be brain washed or intimidated by gangs of underworld thugs. They could clearly see what was happening. This shows that still there are people who cannot be bought over by dramatic and foolish talk or videos of candidates acting like clowns. UNP - there's still hope for you, only if you can stop bickering and get together and touch the hearts and minds of the real Sinhala people living in the villages. Remember, you don't have to prove anything to the Colombo city voters. They know who you are and what you can do. Go and spread your word in the far away forgotten places like Mr. Premadasa did, talk with sincerity and draw the youth towards you. Don't let the old cronies destroy the party by living in the colonial past. Your way of conducting elections does not appeal to the masses. Don't you know that they mock you and laugh at you. Start thinking like Sri Lankans and not like your old masters of the past glory days.
