Moore's Law has a correlate that is easy to track, but I have never seen an article do. Greater processing power per $ leads to greater obesity and more virtual reality. Technology leads to proliferating unreality, both in the body and the mind. A crazy mind in an adiposity amplified "body".
Facebook is an obesity amplifier, as are virtually all social media. They are the sugar and carbs of the technosphere.
The Facebook IPO, in which a company with 3,200 intends to make itself worth $100 billion, is an evolutionary milestone in showing how much value and priority humans place on sitting and getting fatter, via technology.
No suite of technologies are evolving faster than computer gaming. Soon 30% of the total global computational processing power will be devoted to one single activity: computer gaming. Gaming is also a highly obesogenic activity.
Don't get me wrong: I love love love computer gaming. But when I cut down my gaming, I went from 285 lbs. to 210 lbs. and I am far from the only person who has seen these sorts of results.
