Is it good to switch on desktop computer in rainy weather or even after heavy rain ?

    This is not regarding lightning.
Concern is of high humidity levels. :baffled:

If humidity level in room is high, can it damage the mother board or any other device inside computer when switched on, due to moisture on the circuit boards ?

Can moisture condensing on the fan blades (cpu fan & case fan. also if graphics card has fan) throw tiny water droplets on mother board cause any short when fan starts ?

    Is this a concern ?
What do u guys do ?
(anyone holding a hair drier on computer before starting in wet weather ? :P )

well how high is the humidity. is a question.
I did not check with a scientific humidity meter.
Checked with a wall clock and a desk top clock that indicate humidity and showed 90% in the past few days. Normally they show about 80% and when taken to a place with A/C show about 70%. But not sure if these readings are accurate. Found it close to what is given in the weather reports for SL.

    thanks

Ok Bro it's like this.As far as I know this is not a huge concern in SL.As long as you dont have a system with a lot of vents and fans it is not really a issue. The biggest problem is if you dont use your p.c on a daily basis,so if you turn it on after sometime and there is some moisture deposited there can be a short.
Never use a hairdryer on ur p.c cause the hot air can melt and damage the components. If you want to do something like that I recommend you invest in a blower.
    Hope this helps:)
