If airtel buys it, they can the existing frequencies woth Mobitel and merge the networks. Also, SLT has TV and Broadband, both Fixed Wireless and Fixed DSL and Fibre. This new company will become quad solution provider like Dialog. Mobile, Mobile Broadband, Fixed Broadband and TV.

airtel provides a superior service in India for bundled quad customers. If they can do that in Sri Lanka, I am pretty sure it will become a threat to Dialog. Also Dialog is stagnant with their technologies at the moment. Nothing new is in the pipeline and their FTTH expansion and 4G tower upgrades have slowed down and commercial 5G launch won’t happen anytime soon due to high costs.
