Viewsonic PJ258D Viewdock
Dock the iPod and watch the movies in it using 1024x768 resolution projector! (works like a normal projector too)

HP TOUCHSMART PC IQ770

Windows Vista was one of the biggest presences at CES 2007, and most of the products and technologies on display at Microsoft's sprawling booth at the show had some sort of connection to the new operating system, which launches later this month.

One of the niftiest was this family-friendly PC from HP, with a unique and compact design and a touchscreen display that's delightfully intuitive to use.

The TouchSmart would make a great centrepiece in a family's living room or kitchen, as long as you keep some cleaner handy to get rid of the inevitable greasy fingerprints.

It can even burn DVDs and then automatically write labels on them. Now Grandma will actually be able to keep track the home movies you send her.

NIKKO R2-D2 DVD PROJECTOR

OK, now THIS is fine use of existing technology! This 200-cm tall replica of C-3P0's diminutive longtime companion can project DVDs onto a wall or ceiling (but not holograms of a young Princess Leia, unless you happen to be watching the "Star Wars" DVD.) It's fitted with a bevy of other features, like an IPod dock, USB inputs, integrated stereo speakers and even a Millenium Falcon-shaped remote control that you can use to guide it around the room. It looks, sounds and moves shockingly like its movie counterpart.

Hold onto your lightsabres, though -- this wee droid will set you back at least $2,500. Do you know how many power converters that'll buy you at Toshi Station?

SAMSUNG ULTRA MUSIC MOBILE PHONE

You can have a phone with a big display screen for viewing photos and video, or you can have a phone with a nice-sized keypad that doesn't require delicate little thumbs and a surgeon's precision to use. But you can't have both - or can you?

The lusciously chic and feature-rich Samsung Ultra Music phone has a spacious display on one side and a standard-sized dial pad on the other, and you just swivel the screen around depending on which you want to use. What's not cool is no Canadian provider has signed on to carry the phone yet. Call your local wireless company (on your decidedly stodgy current phone) and demand they offer it!
